Temeswar , also obsolete Temeschwar or Temeschburg , Hungarian Temesvár , Serbo-CroatianТемишвар / Temišvar ) is a city in western Romania , the capital of the Timiş county , seat of the planning region West and the historical, economic and cultural center of the Banat , The city was in 2011 after Bucharest and just behind Cluj-Napoca, the third largest population in the country. Danube Swabians constituted the largest ethnic group in the city until the Second World War .
